When Kylie Galen entered Shadow Falls Camp, she left her old life behind forever and discovered a world more magical than she ever imagined. A place where two best friends can be a witch and a vampire….and where love doesn’t happen the way you’d expect.

When Kylie’s most powerful enemy returns to destroy her once and for all, there’s only one way to stop him – to step into her full powers and make a stunning transformation that will amaze everyone around her. But her journey won’t be complete until she makes one final choice: which guy to love. Should she choose a werewolf who broke her heart but will give anything to win her back, or the half-fae who ran from their attraction before they had a chance? Everything she learned at Shadow Falls has been preparing her for this moment – when her fate will be revealed and her heart claimed forever.

C.C Hunter has come through for her readers to deliver a very satisfying finale to her Shadow Falls series, Chosen at Nightfall.

For those of you who haven’t read the previous books in this series and you love books about the supernatural, complete with all different types of supernatural species, great character detail, great plots full of action and mystery and of course great romance, then this series is for you. I promise this series will not disappoint you – so get to it!

Even though the opening chapters of this book were rather predictable in terms of the direction of the plot and the characters, I still found myself completely absorbed in this story which detailed Kylie’s further self-development and final quests. The reader learns more about Kylie’s species, the Chameleons, an aspect which then becomes a key part in one of Kylie’s quests. Kylie also has to make a decision about who she loves and if she is willing to take all the risks that come with that love. On top of all that, Kylie discovers she is even more powerful than before when another special gift materializes.  This gift, which is linked to her latest ghost has an immediate connection with her enemy Mario and their final confrontation, where Kylie has to save someone she deeply loves.

All our favorite Shadow Falls characters were involved in Chosen at Nightfall in some way but this book mainly focused around the characters of Kylie, Lucas, Derek and Della. Kylie’s character matured a lot in this finale but still stayed true to herself and everyone she loved.  Della’s character got tested on an emotional level and with C.C Hunters upcoming Shadow Falls series being centered on Della it was a perfect set up for the direction on how her character will further evolve. But the character who evolved the most for me was Lucas; he lost his arrogance in this book and showed true remorse for his actions in the last installment, Whispers at Moonrise.  He identified his mistakes and admits to his wrong doings as well as proudly displaying his feelings for Kylie to her and the rest of Shadow Falls.  This was the kind of character that I wanted Lucas to be for Kylie from the very beginning.

I love the way this book ended, I couldn’t have asked for anything more or less in this finale. Everyone got their happy ending and what is even more fantastic is that I am sure we will still be reading about all our favorite characters in C.C Hunters upcoming series, so this is not a good-bye but a see you soon – until next time!

  1. Sounds like an enjoyable series. And I think that’s the thing with great books – even if they’re a little predictable in parts, it’s the writing and the characters that get you to keep reading. Great review 🙂
