Would you rather know a truth that makes you feel hopeless, or keep believing the lies?

Beloved and bestselling author Colleen Hoover returns with the spellbinding story of two young people with devastating pasts who embark on a passionate, intriguing journey to discover the lessons of life, love, trust – and above all, the healing power that only truth can bring.

Sky, a senior in high school, meets Dean Holder, a guy with a promiscuous reputation that rivals her own. From their very first encounter, he terrifies and captivates her. Something about him sparks memories of her deeply troubled past, a time she’s tired so hard to bury. Though Sky is determined to stay far away from him, his unwavering pursuit and enigmatic smile break down her defenses and the intensity of the bond between them grows. But the mysterious Holder has been keeping secrets of his own, and once they are revealed, Sky is changed forever and her ability to trust may be a casualty of the truth.

Only by courageously facing the start revelations can Sky and Holder hope to heal their emotional scars and find a way to live and love without boundaries. Hopeless is a novel that will leave you breathless, entranced and remembering your own first love.

Hopeless is an incredible book that creates such an impact, it will stay with you for quite some time. Colleen Hoover has done an amazing job in creating an emotional and captivating page turner with a plot and characters that are sure to quickly become embedded in your soul.

Hopeless is very unique and extremely well written. The plot has so many twists and turns that you are constantly left breathless and taken aback. Words that come to mind to describe this story without giving anything away would be, mysterious, dark, heart wrenching, devastatingly sad and extremely beautiful. The first mind blowing chapter had me thinking of all sorts of scenarios and situations that could lead to this point but let me tell whatever direction you “think” this book is heading, it will be nothing like you expected!

I felt a real emotional connection with these characters; they were all so complex and damaged, burdening themselves with so many secrets and lies. Sky’s character has so much strength to be able to love and trust after the hurdles she endures. She also shows maturity in the way she handles her devastating past and by making such vital decisions about her future. Holder’s character was intense and I would love to know what he was thinking a lot of the time when Sky caught him just staring intensely at her. I really felt for him with the way his grief and guilt consumed him.  But hands down the highlight of this book was the passion these two characters had for each other.  The emotional exchanges, both physical and verbal, between them throughout the book evoked so many different emotions inside me.

So even though this story was devastatingly sad, when you take away all the ugly you are left with a truly beautiful love story about two characters that are destined to be soul mates. It is simply poetic the way Colleen Hoover orchestrates destiny to allow their paths to intertwine, so their souls, unbeknownst to them, are drawn to each other in ways they cannot comprehend and once they discover who they really are, they never want to let go of each other again.

So if I haven’t made myself clear, I LOVED THIS BOOK! This book has truly touched me and I would proudly recommend it – It’s a MUST read, for this book will emotionally connect with anyone who has a heart beat!

I also look forward to reading “Losing Hope” the story but from Holders point of view, he was so mysterious and such a thinker I am dying to know what was going on inside his head!

  1. I’m thinking about trying to squeeze in a reread of this before Losing Hope, but another reviewer said it wasn’t necessary – and I kind of like that I’ve forgotten so much of this that Losing Hope will hold some mystery for me… Hmmm. Cool review. 🙂

  2. I have to agree, this is one of the best books I’ve ever read too! Now you’ll have to read Losing Hope, it’s fantastic too!
